Series of mysterious music chords
I love music and to meditate with the future dream while listening or playing. Some may get jogged his or her past memories from the music but I used to fall into the fancy dream itself. Particularly I enjoy listening jazz because its mysterious sound always move my deep heart. Since I prefer free-style music I've scrutinized the chords of jazz. And I want to lay down the outcome from the study here a little.
Basically, playing music is of greater dependency on subconscious feelings. On the other words, it comes from repeated experiences which is memorized automatic sequence of chords in the head. I feel like this because I do learn from it as I've played piano for more than 10 years. Sometimes reading scores would help but that's not enough - what is worse, jazz musics have no score but series of chords in common.
A chord composes of different trick sounds. I don't care about melody because of my thought that chords make the music and melody decks itself. Somebody may disavow it because many composers begin writing music with its melody. But captivating sound usually comes from chords, not melody and that's why I'm focusing on them here.
Let's start with major triad. Most chords consist of 4 parts (3 basics and 1 option): base, 3rd, 5th notes and tension and major triad has only base, 3rd, 5th notes. Starters may be familiar with the sound. But Jazz is differentiated in tension part and its crossing beat.
Various tensions like 7th, 9th chord might be difficult for beginners but it is a should-do course to be a good player. 7th chord is to take 7th note plus to major triad. Two types of 7th chords like major seven and normal seven are noted as CM7 and C7 in C major. The difference between them depends on whether flatting 7th chord(C7) or not(CM7). 9th chord adds a note to 7th chord. When you meet C9 for example, you may take C(base)-E(3rd)-G(5th)-B(7th)-D(9th).

Other tensions like 6th and varied-5th, 9th are also available and it composes the harmony. How many other tensions? In most case, it might cover whole range of the jazz chords. Although it's not that simple, after being proficient in controlling and composing chords you would make fantastic chords.
Again, music cannot be declared literally and should be felt in heart and hands to play. The common theory of jazz is easy but harsh to apply it into a music. Google blues scale and it would guide you the world of jazz closer. Practice is the only answer actually. Good luck.
